The theme of the World Water Day 2023 speaks clearly: change must be accelerated and everyone must play their part. This is a commitment for all people, who are called upon to adopt increasingly sustainable lifestyles, but naturally also for companies. If, as in our case, they belong to the water handling industry, then the challenge becomes even more exciting. Taking care of the most precious resource for life, offering soluations for the entire water cyclepropose innovative systems capable of combining technology and respect for the environment represent our daily mission and our commitment to all stakeholders. Each of our products, from the moment it is designed to its installation, must be seen as a tool to improve the quality of life and a step forward in protecting the planet.
Clean and safe water for all
Among the 19 Sustainable Development Goals, the Goal 6 of the UN 2030 Agenda is called "Clean water and sanitation". The aim is to ensure the availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all. A tough challenge when you look at the numbers, but for this very reason urgent and a priority. According to the United Nations, there are as many as 663 million people without drinking water in the world and 40% of the global population suffers from water scarcity. Similarly, 2.4 billion people lack basic sanitation.
To ensure thewater supplya basic necessity for life, electric pumps are indispensable tools, both in distribution networks and in drawing from underground sources. With our pumps, we have always been committed to ensuring reliable solutions, performing even in complex situations, robust enough to be maintenance-free, and increasingly energy efficient.
Access to clean, safe and potable water resources cannot be separated from the waste water treatment. Treatment plants require pumping stations to lift and transfer fluids, which must be operated safely and as efficiently as possible. In this situation too, pumps play a major role in maintaining the healthiness of the environment and the integrity of water sources.
For sustainable economic development
There can be no economic development without water resources. Water is needed in agriculture, livestock farming, and various industrial processes. Agriculture, in particular, requires a large amount of water (about 70% of global consumption) and climate change has profound effects on this sector. In the face of increasing water stress, pumps can make a difference, contributing to the development of efficient and sustainable irrigation systems. High-efficiency pumps designed for different irrigation technologies, capable of delivering enough water but without waste, pumps for rainwater harvesting or desalination plants.
Sustainability as a general horizon
The water pump industry is therefore at the forefront of the challenge for a sustainable water future. Being able to improve access to drinking water, respond to the demand for innovative technologies to conserve water and encourage reuse, is a drive to pursue sustainability goals at all levels. We constantly strive to make sustainability an integral part of our corporate culture and operations, as well as a guide in the research and development of our products. Ecodesign pumps and extented product approach allow us to combine performance and energy efficiency, save raw materials and produce pumping systems with a truly green soul. World Water Day invites us to be part of the change we want to see in the world: for us, this means proposing affordable innovation on a large scale and having a future-oriented vision throughout the value chain.
